Effingham Junior High School finishes sixth in the Taylorville Tornado Boys Invitational and seventh in the Girls Invitational.

The Effingham Junior High School cross country runners competed at the Taylorville Tornado Cross Country Invitational Tuesday.

The Mustangs finished sixth in the boys meet and seventh in the girls meet.

“We ran against a lot of tough competition,” said EJHS Coach Nancy Ervin. “Our boys had an incredible showing, finishing sixth out of 14 teams, a fantastic effort against strong competition.

“We had personal records galore,” said Coach Ervin. “Shout out to the following runners who set new personal records — Glover, Jolly, Klingler, Mihlbachler, Wendling, Wyckoff, Young, Bierman, Rohr, Aaron, Hess and Schackmann. Way to put in the work and make it count!

“Medal winners were Jared Klingler in fourth place and Kynlie Rohr in eighth place. Runners of the Meet for the boys was Klingler and for the girls was Schackmann. We are so proud of this group, your hard work, determination, and team spirit are shining through each meet.”
