Effingham Sacred Heart’s Bryce Hayes and Lucas McDevitt combined to throw a six-inning no-hitter over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Tuesday in junior high baseball action.

Hayes picked up the win going 3 2/3 innings with 10 strikeouts and a walk. McDevitt went the final 2 1/3 inning with four strikeouts and a walk.

Hayes was also unstoppable at the plate, going three-for-four with a single, two doubles, three RBI and a walk.

Sacred Heart’s offense wasted no time, plating a run in the first inning when Hayes doubled to score Gabe Traub. After building a 5-0 lead, the Sharmocks broke the game wide open with a four-run sixth inning, highlighted by Hayes’ second double and a two-RBI triple from Carson Kenter.

LaSarge finishied with two singles and two RBI, Chris Kenter had a triple and two RBI and Traub a double.

The Shamrocks racked up 13 hits as Jackson LaSarge, Colten Mette and Rube Jansen each had multi-hit games. Traub showed patience at the plate drawing three walks. Owen Altgilbers had two steals in the contest.

Effingham St. Anthony pounded out 19 hits and finished with 19 runs in a 19-8 win over Charleston Tuesday.

The Bulldogs trailed 2-1 after three innings but broke loose with a six-run fourth, then had an eight-run fifth and a four-run sixth.

Jaxon Having led the Bullpups with three singles, a double and two RBI while Luke Roewe added two singles, a, double and two RBI. Bentley Baudier finished with a single, double and an RBI, Eli Bales with three singles and an RBI, Parker Phillips and Reed Schumacher with two singles and an RBI each and James GIlmore a single and an RBI. Ryan Wohltman added an RBI.

Roewe went four innings for the win on the mound. He gave up two runs on four hits, one walk and struck out three.

Cumberland played host to Dieterich and was a 10-0 winner in five innings Tuesday.

Cumberland finished with seven hits and Dieterich ended with four errors.

Stewardson-Strasburg ripped out to a 10-0 lead and claimed a 19-1 win over Altamont Tuesday.

Stew-Stras finished with 13 hits while Tate Thompson pitched two innings, not giving up a hit or run and walking two. Will Worman came on to toss the final inning, giving up one run on one hit and one walk.

Adam Pruemer had a single, double and three RBI while Johnny Richter had a single, double and four RBI for the winners. Jacob Howe had three singles while Tate Thompson and Max Kull had a single each.

Sigel St. Michael pushed into a 4-0 opening inning lead and went on to blank Ramsey, 15-0 in three innings Tuesday.

The Sharpshooters had 11 hits in the contest. H. McWhorter led the way with a double, triple and five RBI while K. Kreke had three singles and two RBI and B. Burton a single and double.

Burton went 1.2 innings giving up two walks and striking out five. P. Walk came on to toss 1.1 innings, giving up one hit, one walk and striking out three.

Ramsey committed six errors in the contest.
