 CHBC Handles Sandoval, SEB Drops H.S. Volleyball Match to Nokomis

COWDEN — Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City handled Sandoval in high school volleyball action Monday evening.

The Bobcats won in two sets, 25-13, 25-22. Gracie Wright led in assists with 15 and digs with four. Allison Shields led in kills with nine. Zoe Sarver had four aces.

CHBC improved to 2-6 on the season and will be back in action tonight at St. Elmo/Brownstown.

CHBC also claimed the junior varsity match, 25-19, 25-12.

At Nokomis

The St. Elmo/Brownstown Eagles suffered a tough two set loss to undefeated Nokomis Monday evening, 25-21, 25-21. The loss marks three straight road losses for St. Elmo/Brownstown after the team began the season 4-0 and now sits at 4-3.

Mya Barker led in digs with 11. Ariana Kistler and Presley Williams had two blocked shots each. Alivia Claycomb had three aces and Peyton Barker led in kills with four.

The Eagles will have a chance to rebound when they play host to Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at home tonight. It’s a double conference matchup as the Eagles are 1-0 in both the National Trail Conference and the Egyptian Illini Conference standings.
