 St. Anthony Wins Olney Boys Golf Invitational, Teutopolis Second

OLNEY — Effingham St. Anthony High School captured the championship of the Olney Boys Golf Invitational Friday.

The Bulldogs tallied a 301 followed by Olney 317, Teutopolis 318, Red Hill/Lawrenceville 334, Litchfield 339, Mount Carmel 341, Carmi 344, Casey-Westfield 350, Albion 362, Fairfield 369, Robinson 378, Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville 381, Flora 397, and Marshall 421.

Olney’s Reese Glover was medalist with a 70. St. Anthony’s Logan Gowin was second with a 37-36 — 73 and T-town’s Coen Pennington was third with a 74. St. Anthony’s Maddux Clark finished fourth with a 35-39 — 74. St. Anthony’s Alec Hakman was sixth with 35-41 — 76. Newton’s Michael Kennedy was eighth with a 76. T-town’s Isaac Weber and St. Anthony’s James Trupiano both shot a 37-41 — 78 each for 10th.

Others competing for St. Anthony were Drake Brown 43-37 — 80, Liam McAllaster 39-43 — 82 and Trenton Sandschafer 38-44 — 82.

Others competing for Teutopolis were Matthew Habing 80, Owen Kremer 86, Landyn Thoele 89 and Kade Pennington 92. Individuals were Lane Ohnesorge 84, Eli Weber 93 and Ben Sandschafer 101.

The Shoes are back in action Wednesday against Effingham, Sullivan and Robinson at the Effingham Country Club.
