Effingham Junior High School claimed a girls cross country meet at Ballard Nature Center Thursday.
The Mustangs scored 25 followed by Teutopolis 48 and Charleston 51.
Effingham’s Emery Spicer won the meet with a time of 19:30. Second place went to teammate Baylee Summer with a time of 20:16. Also scoring were Alaina Miller in fifth in 21:43, Laynee Pankau 10th in 23;03 and Lauren Etheridge 17th in 24:33.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City’s Zoe Sarver finished fourth in 21:17.
Altamont’s Katie Tedrick was sixth in 22:39 while T-town’s MJ Dennis was seventh in 22:44.
