Teutopolis resident Roddnie Deters has been placed on two years’ probation for possession of methamphetamine and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Deters was found by Effingham City Police unconscious about 3am in a vehicle at a stop sign with a loaded handgun in his lap. The report on the incident was that there was a quantity of meth in the vehicle.
Deters was originally charged with a Class X Felony count of armed violence when arrested in August of 2024.
In addition to the probation, Deters was given credit for 180 days served in jail while awaiting disposition of his case.
