OLNEY — Teutopolis lost the opening set 25-22 but took the second set, 25-16 against Richland County, Olney. The Wooden Shoes then went 31-29 to improve to 2-0 on the season in high school volleyball Tuesday.

Madison Miller led the Wooden Shoes with four blocks and 16 kills. Elise Pals also had four blocks. Kaylie Jordan led in assists with 19. Ella Tarter led in digs with 17. Ella Willenberg led in points with six.

In junior varsity action, T-town was a winner over Olney, 25-20, 25-8. Ella Willenberg led in digs with 10. Emma Isley had eight points and one ace. Kiley Bloemer and Brittany Swingler had one ace each.  Swingler led in kills with three.

The Wooden Shoes freshman squad also was a winner, 25-20, 25-8.

South Central opened its season with a victory over Ramsey Tuesday evening.

The Cougars won 25-10, 25-14. River Yingst had a good evening. She had two kills, one ace, one block, three digs and 10 assists.

Addisyn Sigrist led in digs with nine. Mya Schaal had six kills. Maddie Peddicord led in aces with six.

The junior varsity team also was a winner, 25-10, 25-18.

Altamont fell to the homestanding Lawrenceville squad, 25-19, 25-11 Tuesday.

Hope Roedl led Altamont in digs with 21. Riley Rippetoe and Avery Fleehart had five assists each.  Avery Aldrich had three blocks. Bella Hollinshead finished with three kills.

Casey-Westfield came calling and won over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Tuesday evening.

The Warriors went 25-11, 25-23 for the victory.

Leading CHBC were Timber Watson with two aces and 6 digs, Allison Shields with five kills, Gracie Wright with 13 assists and Carissa Wakefield with one block.

Casey-Westfield also claimed the junior varsity match, 25-17, 25-7.

Cisne came calling and captured a victory over Dieterich.

The Lions won with identical 25-22 scores.

Dieterich was led by Maria Muhs with 10 digs, Allie Uthell with six blocked shots, Bailey Brummer with six kills, Aliza Garner with six assists and Kinley Will with one ace.

Robinson was a winner over host North Clay (Louisville) Tuesday.

The Maroons won the opening set, 25-17. North Clay came back with a 25-16 count but Robinson won the match, 25-12.

In the junior varsity contest, North Clay was a winner 25-23, 25-23.

North Clay and Robinson split victories in freshman/sophomore action.

North Clay won the opener 25-23 and Robinson took the second set 23-15.
