Dan was born on July 5, 1949 the oldest son of Wayne and Berdena (Easton) Printz in the hospital at Salem, IL. Dan was a graduate of Dieterich High School and continued his education at SIU Carbondale where he received a degree in Physical Education. He then began his employment at Crossroads Press/Quebecor World Color Press. He worked there for 31 years until Quebcor closed in 2004. Soon afterward Dan began working for Effingham Equity. He worked there until May 2015 when he began his retirement. During this time he spent many mornings either out on the lake with his fishing buddies, or enjoying breakfast and conversation with his McDonald’s friends. Dan married Joan Buening on June 27, 1981, at Green Creek. They had 44 blessed years together, devoted to one another, and were blessed with three children.

Dan had many interests during his life. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the BASS Club for many years and fished many tournaments. Some of Dan’s happiest moments were spent on the water. He also loved going to car shows and talking about his muscle car which he had completely restored.

What Dan cherished the most however, was his family, whom will miss him deeply. Dan is survived by wife, Joan Printz, his son Matt (Ashley) Printz, and their children, Hailey Printz, Max Black, Logan Printz, and Barret Printz of Montrose, IL; Jessica (Tyler) Koger and their children, Titus, Delia, Elias, Hazel, and Clara of Wentzville, MO; Jenny (Brandon) Lovett and their son Kelly of Mahoment, IL; and brother Steve (Rae) Printz of Altamont, IL and their children.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents (Calvin and Pearl Printz), and his in-laws Albert and Pauline Buening.

On October 28, 2023, Dan made the life-changing decision to place his faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior. He followed in believer’s baptism and received into membership at Southside Baptist Church on December 24, 2023. His favorite passage in the Bible was Psalm 139:23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
