Effingham Sacred Heart moved into a 2-0 opening inning lead and went on to down Altamont Lutheran, 8-1 in junior high baseball competition Monday.
The Shamrocks tallied two runs in the third inning then tacked on three in the fifth and one in the sixth.
They had an 11-hit attack as Chris Kenter had three singles, Gabe Traub a single, triple and two RBI, Lucas McDevitt two singles and Reuben Jansen a double and two RBI.
Traub went five innings to pick up the pitching victory. He tossed a no-hitter, gave up a run, issued three walks and struck out 14.

At Dieterich
Dieterich stepped out to a 3-0 opening inning lead but Sigel St. Michael came right back to tie the score in the top of the second. Dieterich again moved ahead with a run in the bottom of the frame but here came the Sharpshooters once again to tie the score.
St. Michael then moved ahead with a run in the third and then tallied a run in the fifth for a 5-4 lead.
But Dieterich ended up winning in the bottom of the seventh with two runs for the 6-5 victory.
The winners had 10 hits led by Chase Bohnhoff with a single and double, Landon McQueen with a single and three RBI and Maddox Nichols and Nolan Gipson with two singles and an RBI each.
McQueen claimed the win on the mound. He went the last 4.2 innings, giving up one run on four hits, no walks and striking out four.

At Strasburg
Stewardson-Strasburg blanked Neoga, 13-0 in four innings Monday.
Stew-Stras took a 4-0 opening inning lead and had a four-run second and a five-run third. Johnny Richter hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the second and Noah Friese hit a two-run triple in the third inning.
Ty Kramer got the win by throwing 2 2/3 scoreless innings and striking out five. Will Worman made his junior high debut by throwing 1 1/3 scoreless innings and striking out three.
The Comets are 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in the National Trail Conference.
Neoga’s lone hit was a single by Baylor Matusas.

At Cowden
South Central came calling and pounded out a 16-5 victory over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in six innings Monday.
The Falcons edged out to a 4-2 opening inning lead and led 7-5 after two. South Central then tallied three runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to end the game via the 10-run rule.
South Central had 12 hits and was aided by five CHBC errors. Skibinski led the Falcons with a single, double and three RBI, D. Lotz with a triple and three RBI, R. Roberts with two singles and an RBI R. Lane with two singles, J. Smith with a single and two RBI and N. Knutt and J. Guillion with a single and an RBI each.
J. Smith went one inning, allowing two runs on one hit, two walks while striking out two.
The Bobcats was led by Luke Roadarmel with two singles and two RBI and Tyce Kircher and Curtis Bethel with a single and an RBI each. Remington Strange added an RBI.
