Beulah Rose Edwards, 77, of Mode, Illinois, peacefully passed away at 11:43 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, Illinois.
Private graveside services will be held in Mt. Zion Cemetery, near Shelbyville, Illinois. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville, Illinois. Condolences may be sent to her family at www.howeandyockey.com
Beulah was born on September 28, 1947, in Fancher, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Naomi (Askins) Keller. She was known to many by the childhood nickname “Duke” given to her by her older brother. Beulah graduated from Cowden-Herrick High School in 1965. She married Jimmie Carl Edwards of Windsor, Illinois on June 11, 1966. They celebrated their 59 th wedding anniversary this year. Beulah worked at Shelby Memorial Hospital and HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital in the dietary department for over 20 years. She enjoyed getting to know her co-workers and the patients.
Beulah is survived by her husband; three children, Lisa Mae Boyd (Brian) of Edinberg, Illinois, Jason Carl Edwards (Kellie) of Plano, Texas, and Amy Jo Buchanan (Tim) of Herrick, Illinois; six grandchildren, Shayna Jo Marston (Gage), Blaine Buchanan, Jhett Buchanan (Claire), Austin Fair, Cheyenne Edwards, and Peyton Edwards; and two great grandchildren, Violet Marston and Leia Marston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Naomi Keller; sister, Elsie Conner; brother, Elza Keller; niece, Brenda Hopkins; and nephews, Larry Edwards and Troy Gipson.
