 Cardinals Score Two In Eighth For 3-2 Win Over Rockies, MLB Roundup

ST. LOUIS — Another victory as the St. Louis Cardinals handed the Colorado Rockies a 3-2 loss Monday.

The Cardinals struck first with a run in the third inning. Victor Scott II drew a walk and then stole second. Lars Nootbaar grounded out and Scott II went to third. With one out, Alec Burleson singled to right field and Scott II scored.

Colorado came back to move ahead with a two-run seventh. Jordan Beck hit a bunt single down the third-base line and then took second on a throwing error by Nolan Gorman. Mickey Moniak singled and Beck went to third. Warming Bernabel grounded out to second and Beck scored and Moniak took second. With two outs, Doyle singled and Moniak scored and the Rockies held a 2-1 lead.

But, here came the Cardinals. With one out in the eighth, Gorman drew a walk. Thomas Saggese singled and Gorman took second. Garrett Hampson came in to run for Gorman. Brendan Donovan then doubled to right field and Saggese and Hampson scored.

Miles Mikolas went 6 2/3 innings without giving up a hit. he walked one and struck out three. Kyle Leahy came on to finish the last 2 1/3 innings, giving up one hit and striking out two for the win.
