Michelle Kollmann, Effingham County Clerk and Recorder, would like to inform the voters of Effingham County that the County Clerk’s office will start the Voter Registration Purge.
The process to purge the voter registration records is required by Illinois State Statute and mandated by the Help America Vote Act.
The Voter Registration Purge is done every two years and is a way to keep the voter rolls as updated as possible. To begin this process, new voter registration cards will be mailed to every registered voter in Effingham County. Once you receive your new card, please inspect it carefully to make sure all printed information is correct.
If your new voter registration card is incorrect or you are a registered voter and did not receive a new card, please contact the County Clerk’s office.
Also, please let them know if you receive a voter registration card for anyone who is deceased or who nolonger resides at your address because of moving to another address or moved out of the county.
For any questions, voters may contact the Effingham County Clerk’s office at 217-342-6535.
