A Charleston area teenager was killed Thursday afternoon in a UTV accident.
Killed in the crash was 15-year-old Eli Tanner, who had a Casey address but lived in the rural Charleston community.
Coles County Coroner Ed Schniers said Tanner and another teenager were traveling on a county road when the UTV overturned. Tanner, who was not buckled in, was ejected and the UTV rolled on top of him. Schniers said the passenger, who was buckled in, walked away from the crash.
The incident occurred just before 3pm.
