Washington Savings Bank is proud to announce its advancement to the Humanitarian level on the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation Donor Wall, which recognizes cumulative giving totals between $100,000 and $250,000. This milestone reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting the mission of the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System. Located inside the hospital, the Donor Wall honors individuals and organizations whose generosity helps deliver life-changing care to patients and families throughout the region.

Washington Savings Bank’s long-standing partnership with the Foundation includes several community-focused fundraising initiatives. Each February, the bank hosts its annual “Give A Heart” fundraiser, offering customers and team members the opportunity to purchase paper hearts at any branch location in support of local heart health awareness. Proceeds benefit the Prairie Heart Institute at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital and the Sarah Bush Lincoln Heart Center.

In October, the bank holds its popular “Pink Pumpkin Contest” in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Employees decorate pumpkins, and community members are invited to vote
for their favorites through donations. Every vote raises funds for LeAnn’s Light and the SB Mobile Mammography Unit, helping increase access to breast cancer detection and care.

Most recently, the bank launched “Dine and Donate Days,” a new fundraising effort inviting community members to “fill the jar” in support of the SBL Peace Meal Senior Nutrition Program. Peace Meal provides nutritious meals, fellowship, and critical services that help seniors maintain their independence and improve their overall quality of life.

“Reaching the Humanitarian level reflects the generosity of our customers, the creativity of our staff, and our shared commitment to community health and wellness,” said Dave Doedtman, President and CEO of Washington Savings Bank. “We’re honored to continue our partnership with the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation and proud to play a role in helping improve lives
close to home.”
