Connie M. Maroon, 87 of Neoga, Illinois passed away at 10:58 PM Tuesday June 24, 2025 in the Arbor Rose Advantage Memory Care in Charleston, Illinois.
She was born November 14, 1937 in Montpelier, Ohio the daughter of Donald and Mignonette (Lemon) Roberts. Connie married James Maroon August 2, 1957 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he survives. Mrs. Maroon was a Teacher’s Aide in the Neoga School District, Owner Operator of the Mattoon Bible Book Store in Mattoon, Illinois, and a homemaker. Connie enjoyed being the church choir director, traveling with her husband and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, James “Jim” Maroon of Neoga, Illinois; sons, Steve Maroon and his wife Lee Ann of Neoga, Illinois, Brian Maroon and his wife Michel of St. Joseph, Illinois, Greg Maroon and his wife Janette of Beloit, Wisconsin and; grandchildren, Brandon Maroon (Chauntel), Nathan Maroon (Fiancé Shelby Fuequay), Dustin Maroon, Darrin Maroon, Zea Maroon, Carson Maroon, Emily DeVoy (Zach); great grandchild, Asher Maroon; several nieces.
Mrs. Maroon was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carol Lequieu.
As per her wishes cremation rites will be accorded and there is no public services scheduled at this time.
The Swengel – O’Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, Illinois is assisting the family with arrangements.
