Former Marion County Coroner Troy Cannon has been arrested on seven counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of victims under age 18.
The arrest of the 63-year-old Cannon follows an investigation by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation began after two children came forward and alleged that Cannon touched them inappropriately.
Cannon is next due in court on July 2.
