NEWTON — The harness races couldn’t have been any more exciting Tuesday at the Jasper County Fair.
The first two races of the day were photo finishes with the rest of the day’s card, just seconds apart.
In the opener, the ISA 2-Year-Old Filly Trot, Division 1, No Flies On Me and Do Better Dez ended neck and neck with No Flies On Me edging out Do Better Dez by a nose in 2:10.0. Archie Buford took the victory in the bike while Jamaica Patton is the trainer.
The second race on the card, Division 2 of the 2-Year-Old Filly Trot, also ended neck and neck with Fox Valley Cassidy edging out Lil Kell. Both trotters ended with a time of 2:14.4. Marcus Detweiler is the trainer and driver of Fox Valley Cassidy.
Division 1 of the ISA 2-Year-Old Colt/Gelding Trot went to Go Go Go Chrome over Lous Lottery. Go Go Go Chrome finished in 2:08.2 and Lous Lottery in 2:10. Archie Buford drove Go Go Go Chrome to the win for trainer Jamaica Patton.
Division 2 of the 2-Year-Old Colt/Gelding Trot was claimed by Lou’s Tru Lou in 2:11.4. Issac Love was the driver and Shawn Nessa the trainer. Zoomster finished second in 2:12.0.
Race Five, the ISA 2-Year-Old Filly Pace, Division 1, went to Jnm Virgin Star. Jordan Patton took the win in 2:05.3. Freddie Patton Jr. is the trainer. April Sunlight Ivg finished second in 2:06.3.
The ISA 2-Year-Old FIlly Pace, Division 2 was claimed by A True Trevor in 2:09.2. Jacquavyian Carter guided A True Trevor to the win for trainer Roshun Trigg.
In the ISA 2-Year-Old Colt/Gelding Pace, Wyatt Avenatti guided Illinigameday to the win in 2:09.0. Jnm Son Of Star took second in 2:10.0. Kevin Miller is the trainer of Illinigameday.
The eighth race went to Girl Math in 2:18.0 for Isaac Love guiding the bike. Shawn Nessa trained Girl Math.
The Topline 2-Year-Old Pace was claimed by Making New Friends. Avenatti claimed his second win in the sulky, as Making New Friends won in 2:08.4. Kevin Miller is the trainer.
Race 10, the Maiden Pace, Division 1 was captured by Takara’s Fire in 2:06.4. Love captured his third victory in the bike on the day. He also trains Takara’s Fire.
The final race of the fair, Division 2 of the Maiden Pace went to Captain Sweetness. Dennis Bankston guided Captain Sweetness to the win in 2:12.2. Lee Broomfield Jr. is the trainer.
