Voris was born on June 23, 1936, the son of Otto and Elta (Habbe) Osborn in the home of his grandparents Wm. and Clara Habbe. He married Arnetia Fae Bannick of Effingham, IL in 1955 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Louisville, IL. Voris graduated from Effingham High School with the class of 1954. After graduating from High School, he went to work as a line inspector at the Norge Factory from 1954-1958, making many great friends. In 1958, he began his career as a Car Salesman at former Shouse Motor Sales. With his love of cars, Osborn stayed with Shouse Motors as a salesman until it closed in 1986, at which time he went to work as a Salesman for C&L dealership until it subsequently closed in 1991. Osborn spent a short stint working at both Luckett Ford, Lincoln Mercury and Braunecker Olds Cadillac and GMC trucks before finding the place where he would spend the rest of his career, at Goeckner Brothers Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep. Osborn’s long career in selling cars came to an end in December of 2005, but his passion for cars continued until his last days.
