Representatives of Effingham County, the City of Effingham, the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce, and the Effingham County Cultural Center and Museum Association were all represented at the ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday evening officially opening the new Effingham County Courthouse Gazebo.
The new gazebo was patterned after the historical Courthouse Museum and was built at ground level, making it handicapped accessible. Both Effingham County and the City of Effingham contributed toward the cost of the project. Both Douthit and Schutzbach discussed the cooperative effort between the County and City to make the project possible.
