I was born and raised in Effingham and graduated from Effingham High School. I started working at the Effingham Daily News in 1970 in high school where I worked 10 years in the composing room then became a sports reporter in 1981. I was the Daily News sports editor for three years before quitting in 2010.
I started working at Premier Broadcasting fulltime, July 6, 2010. I figured somebody needed to try and straighten the Morning Show guys out!
I grew up with two wonderful brothers, although quite a bit older than me. Both were married when I was 10 and I kind of grew up the rest of the way as an only child. Jim who owned Lange Electric here in Effingham and my oldest brother Tom who was a highway engineer in Phoenix, Ariz. Both are now up in Heaven watching over me. I’m not married but have a child (actually a dog, Wrigley, named after my Chicago Cubs home field). I love trivia contests and am a member of a team that travels around getting beat all over the area. Okay, maybe we win once in a while. I also love gardening, sports, scrapbooking, traveling, antiquing, Broadway plays at the Fox Theater, ghosthunting and all things Star Wars including The Mandalorian and Boba Fett.
