Alfred Junior Fulk, age 94, of Dieterich, Illinois, passed away at 8:45 PM- Tuesday June 17, 2025, at HSHS Saint Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating Alfred’s life will be held at 10:30 AM – Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois, with Mike Elliott and Zack Trimble officiating. The burial will be in the Dieterich Village Cemetery south of Dieterich, Illinois, with military rites. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM – Monday, June 23, 2025, at the

Alfred was born on December 26, 1930, in Dieterich, Illinois, the son of Vern and Ethel (Sparling) Fulk. He graduated from the Dieterich High School with the Class of 1948. After high school he served during the Korean War in the United States Army from June 29, 1953, until his honorable discharge on May 11, 1955. On August 16, 1959, he was united in marriage to Wanda Miller at Saint John’s Lutheran Church south of Dieterich, Illinois. Alfred worked at Fedders in Effingham for 30 years and then was a route carrier for LabCorp. He was a member of the Dieterich Christian Church and Teutopolis American Legion Post #924. Alfred was a sports fan and was a Chicago Cubs fan and Fighting Illini. For several years he coached little league baseball for the Dieterich Cardinals. Alfred was an avid sportsman and enjoyed quail hunting for many years. When he was 65 years old, he took up turkey hunting and hunted until he was 90. At the age 87, he harvested his last wild turkey. Alfred also enjoyed gardening and sharing his harvest with his family and friends.

Alfred is survived by his loving family: Wife of 65 years – Wanda Fulk of Dieterich, Illinois; Son – Brad (wife Mary) Fulk of Hereford, Arizona; Granddaughters – Courtney Fulk of Los Angeles, California and Brooklyn Fulk of Ozark, Missouri; Special Niece – Brenda Tarr of Springfield, Illinois.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, brother Howard Donald Fulk, sister Beverly Tarr and half-brother Glen Kincad.
