A 17-year-old Mattoon girl was killed when struck by a freight train Thursday morning.
Coles County Coroner Ed Schniers said the person killed was Kallie Kemper, who would have turned 18 in August.
The incident occurred at 15th and DeWitt by the old Brown Shoe Company building in Mattoon, just before 9am.
