Harold John Koeberlein, age 80, of St. Elmo, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at his home.
Funeral service will be at 12:30 P.M. on Monday, June 9, 2025 at Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo, Illinois with visitation from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will follow at St. Clare Cemetery in Altamont, Illinois. Father Ron Lorilla will be presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the donor’s choice. Harold was born on February 23, 1945 in Effingham, Illinois to John Koeberlein and Emma Rieman. He married Lucille Ann Runge on May 9, 1970 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Elmo, Illinois. They were blessed with one daughter, Stacie, who brought a great amount of joy to their home and family. Harold loved being outdoors, particularly fishing and gardening. He was also a big animal lover and enjoyed taking care of his pets. Harold also had a great passion for spending time with his family and loved visiting with them whenever he could. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Church in St. Elmo, Illinois, a farmer and also worked at Fedders for a number of years.
Harold is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lucille Koeberlein of St. Elmo, Illinois; daughter, Stacie Koeberlein of Effingham, Illinois; sister, Mary Steffen (Russell) of Lincoln, Illinois; sister-in-law, Joyce Koeberlein of Teutopolis, Illinois; brother-in-law, Harold Runge of Dumfries, Virginia; and brother-in-law, Art Runge (Judy) of Springfield, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emma Koeberlein; brother, Francis Koeberlein; and sister-in-law, Monique Runge.
