Effingham St. Anthony claimed the championship of the Class 8-2A Findlay Okaw Valley Volleyball Regional Monday.
St. Anthony fell in the opener 28-26 against Findlay Okaw Valley. But the Bullpups rallied for a 25-19 victory then claimed the match and the regional crown, 25-20.
Class 8-4A Mahomet-Seymour Regional
Effingham fell to the host squad in the championship of the Mahomet-Seymour Regional Monday.
The Mustangs lost 25-10, 25-14 to see the season come to a close.
Class 8-1A Stewardson-Strasburg Regional
Effingham Sacred Heart and Stewardson-Strasburg will meet for the championshp of the Class 8-1A Stew-Stras Volleyball Regional after victories Monday.
Stew-Stras, the top seed, handed fourth-seeded Newton St. Thomas a loss, 25-2, 25-21. Ellie Wittenberg led the winners with 15 points, seven assists and eight digs. Kinley Quast led in kills with nine and also had eight digs. Katelyn VonBehrens led in aces with three.
Sacred Heart, seeded third, was a winner over second-seeded Sigel St. Michael. No score was provided.
Sacred Heart will travel to Stew-Stras for the regional championship today at 4:30 p.m.

Class 8-2A Altamont Regional -- North Clay (Louisville) at Altamont, 4:30 p.m.
Class 8-2A Casey-Westfield Regional -- Martinsville at Casey-Westfield, 4:30 p.m.
Class 8-3A Jasper County Regional -- Vandalia at Jasper County, 4:30 p.m.

Effingham St. Anthony claimed a regional championship in junior high volleyball action Thursday.
The Bullpups defeated FIndlay Okaw Valley in the seventh-grade title match, 25-22, 25-18 to win its own Class 7-2A regional.
Class 7-4A Mahomet-Seymour Regional
Effingham fell to host Mahomet-Seymour in the 7-4A regional championship Thursday.
Mahomet-Seyrmour won the opener 25-13 before Effingham came back with a 25-20 victory. Mahomet-Seymour then claimed the match, 25-22.
Class 7-1A Sigel St. Michael Regional
Sigel St. Michael picked up the regional championship in its own regional Thursday.
The Sharpshooters lost the opener to Newton St. Thomas 25-18. But St. Michael rallied and came back with 25-15, 25-11 counts for the championship.
Class 7-2A St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional
Altamont was a winner in the St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional Thursday.
Altamont defeated South Central, 25-16, 25-19. Altamont finished the National Trail Conference season with a 5-5 record and the overall season at 7-10.
Rippetoe and Lurkins led in aces with nine each. Goeckner and Hollinshead had three digs each. Rippetoe had two kills.
Class 7-2A St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional
Altamont -- Rippetoe, 2 kills, 9 aces, 3 digs; Goeckner, 3 digs; Lurkens, 1 kill, 9 aces, 1 dig, 1 block; Hollinshead, 1 kill, 3 digs; Spar, 2 aces, 2 digs, 2 assists; Stock, 1 kill, 2 aces, 1 dig
Class 7-2A Oblong Regional
Oblong claimed its own regional championship Thursday.
Oblong won the opener 25-17 before Casey-Westfield came back with a 26-24 count. Oblong then won the title 25-17.
Class 7-3A Jasper County Reigonal
Jasper County captured the title of its own regional Thursday.
Jasper County defeated Teutopolis, 25-21, 25-20 for the crown. Leading the winners were Reich with six aces, Michel with four kills, Holder with six assists and Mitchell with two digs.
Teutopolis finished its season with an 8-7 record. Allie Ruholl led in assists with four while Anna Probst had five digs. Olivia Kemme led in kills with three and blocks with two. Olivia Wermert had four aces.
