Altamont and North Clay (Louisville) advance din the Class 8-2A Altamont Volleyball Regional Friday.

Altamont, seeded No. 1, downed fourth-seeded South Central, 25-18, 25-12.

North Clay, seeded No. 2, won over third-seeded St. Elmo/Brownstown, 25-14, 25-19.

The two winners advance to the championship match Tuesday at Altamont at 4:30 p.m.

 

Class 8-2A Findlay Okaw Valley Regional

In Friday action at the Findlay Okaw Valley Regional, Neoga handed Ramsey, a loss. Ramsey claimed the opener 25-23 but Neoga came back with 25-14, 25-19 scores for the win.

In Saturday play, Findlay Okaw Valley defeated Neoga, 25-16, 25-20.

In the second match,  Effingham St. Anthony won ove rCowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 25-23, 25-21. Leading CHBC were Kyleigh LInder with nine points, three aces, five kills and five blocks and Birgen Schlanser with seven digs. Macee Rodman had four assists.

"This was by far the best playing we have seen all season," said CHBC Coach Angela Jefferies. "Both teams were ready to play volleyball and rew werrors were seen. Most all of the players on both teams served at 100% and some great rallies tok place. It would have been nice to go to the champinoshp game, but these girls played well and have nothing to be ashamed about."

St. Anthony nwo faces Findlay Okaw Valley at 6 p.m. today for the championship.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City -- Rodman, 2 pionts, 4 assits, 2 kills, 1 block, 1 dig; Wasson, 3 points, 1 assist, 3 kills, 4 digs; Linder, 9 points, 3 aces, 1 assist, 5 kills, 5 blocks, 5 digs; Schlanser, 2 points, 2 assits, 7 digs; Parks, 2 digs; Thompson, 2 points, 1 kill, 1 block, 2 digs; Cedar, 4 digs; Miller, 5 points, 1 kill, 3 digs

 

Class 8-2A Casey-Westfield Regional

Hutsonville claimed the Friday match over Oblong, 25-17, 25-17.

Hutsonville then advance dto fae Casey-WEstfield Saturday. Hutsonville claimed the opener 25-16.

Casey-Westfield came back with 25-22, 25-19 counts for the match.

In the other contest Saturday, Martinsville defeated Dieterich, 25-19, 25-11.

Casey-WEstfield now faces Martinsville at 4:30 p.m. today.

 

Class 8-3a Jasper County Regional

Jasper County advanced in its own regional to the championship match with a victory SAturday.
