Sigel St. Michael and Newton St. Thomas will meet for the champoinshp of the Class 7-1A Sigel St. Michael volleyball regional after both teams picked up victories Tuesday.

 

St. Michael handed Effingham Sacred Heart a 25-19, 25-7 loss.

Newton St. Thomas downed Stewardson-Strasburg, 25-22, 25-18.

The two teams meet Thursday at Sigel at 4:30 p.m. for the regional crown.

 

Class 7-2A St. Anthony Regional

Findlay Okaw Valley tallied a victory over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Tuesday at the St. Anthony Regional.

CHBC claimed the opener 25-22 but Okaw Valley came back with 25-16, 25-23 scores for the win.

"This was their regional semifinal," said CHBC Coach Angela Jefferies. "They have improved much over the season, but we will be working on consistency."

Okaw Valley advances to face St. Anthony at 4 p.m. Thursday for the regional championship at St. Anthony Grade School.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City -- Sarver, 5 points, 1 ace, 2 assists; Vaughn, 8 points, 1 ace, 1 kill, 1 dig; Burgess, 2 points, 1 ace, 4 kills, 1 dig; Pope, 3 points, 2 aces, 3 assists, 1 dig; Arnold, 19 points, 4 aces, 3 digs; Bowlin, 1 point, 1 dig

 

Class 7-2A Oblong Regional

Oblong ended Dieterich's season with a win at the Oblong Regional Tuesday.

Oblong won in two sets, 25-8, 25-19.

Oblong now advances to face Casey-Westfield for the regional title at 4:30 p.m. at Oblong Thursday.

Class 7-2A St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional -- South Central at Altamont, 4:30 p.m.

Class 7-3A Jasper County Regional -- Teutopolis at Jasper County, 4:30 p.m.

Class 7-4A Mahomet-Seymour Regional -- Effingham at Mahomet-Seymour, 4:30 p.m.
