Two Teens Injured in Single Vehicle Accident

State Police report at 10:04 Saturday night a car driven by Hailey M. Cook, 18,of Mattoon, was traveling northbound on Jasper County Road 800E approaching the intersection of 1600N approximately five miles north of Lis .  Cook stated that she was unfamiliar with the area and did not see the slight curve of the road to the east at which time the vehicle left the roadway to the left before running head on into the west side ditch.

Cook and her passenger, Peyton M. Wills, 18 of Newton, were both injured in the accident. Cook was transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.  Wills was transported by ambulance to Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.
