Wooden Shoes Win Girls Track Meet, Third In Boys Meet

VANDALIA — Teutopolis claimed first place in the Shelbyville High School girls track meet Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes tallied 186 points followed by Vandalia 133, Cumberland 63, Stewardson-Strasburg 45 and Greenville 39.

T-town’s Adrienne Koester was a winner in the 200 with a time of 28.1 seconds. Macy Petersen captured the 1600 in 6:21.4 minutes.

Mary Jane Dennis won the 3200 in 14:51.2 minutes.

The 4×200 relay team of Adiana Davidson, Cicely Mattox, Josie Bales and Emma Isley won in 1:53.9 minutes. The 4×800 relay team of Pearl Huber, Madeline Zane, Claire Overbeck and Petersen was a winner in 12:00.3.

In the field events, Ella Neihls was a double winner. She claimed the long jump at 15 feet, 3 1/2 inches and won the triple jump at 34 feet, 1 1/2 inches.

Taylor McMahon won the high jump at 4 feet, 8 inches.

Samantha Having claimed the pole vault at 7 feet, 6 inches.

Stewardson-Strasburg’s Mya Friese was a double event winner. Friese claimed the 400 in 1:06.3 minutes and the 800 in 2:27.8.

Hannah Shoemaker won for the Pirates in the 100 hurdles in 16.5 seconds.

In the boys meet, Vandalia was the team champion with 152.33 points followed by Cumberland 122, Teutopolis 89.33, Greenville 85.33 and Stewardson-Strasburg 43.

Cumberland’s Aydan Oakley was a winner in the 800 with a time of 2:17.5 minutes.

T-town’s Karson Zerrusen was a double event winner. He claimed the 110 hurdles in 15.3 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 43.3.

Anthony Roley was also a double event winner. He captured the shot with a throw of 14.87 meters and won the discus at 37.68 meters.

Jackson Meyer won the 3200 in 11:52.3 minutes. Brant Niebrugge took first in the pole vault at 13 feet, 6 inches.

Stew-Stras’ Jack Dison won the high jump at 5 feet, 6 inches. Kelby Bierman was a winner in the triple jump at 37 feet, 3 1/2 inches.
