Teutopolis Wooden Shoes Shootout, Girls Regional Play Saturday

Teutopolis is gearing up for some great Wooden Shoes basketball.

Saturday brings the 13th Annual Wooden Shoe Shootout, featuring eight state-ranked teams in their respective classes.

There will be a recognition of the Teutopolis and Sigel St. Michael junior high school boys basketball players and cheerleaders immediately following the 5 p.m. game.

Admission is $5 for the day, no passes or gold seats accepted. Games will be streamed on Hudl Fan and the NFHS network.

The schedule is as follows: Game 1– Cumberland vs. Okaw Valley, 11 a.m., Game 2 — Mahomet-Seymour vs. Triad, 12:30 p.m., Game 3 — Casey-Westfield vs. Goreville, 2 p.m., Game 4 — Nashville vs. Effingham, 3:30 p.m., Game 5 — Normal Community vs. Alton, 5 p.m. and Game 6 — Rochester vs. Teutopolis, 6:30 p.m.

The Teutopolis High School girls basketball team will host a regional. Admission is set by IHSA at $8 cash at the door. No digital or presale option. Games will be streamed exclusively on the NFHS network.

Saturday’s games include Shelbyville at Marshall, 11 a.m. and Vandalia at Sullivan, 1 p.m.

Monday’s games feature Teutopolis against the winner of Game 1 at 6 p.m. and Robinson facing the winner of game 2 at 7:30. The championship is scheduled for Thursday.
