AUBURN — Teutopolis will be playing for a State championship in the Class 7-3A Girls State Basketball Tournament after claiming two victories Saturday.
The Wooden Shoes won their opening game over Forrest Prairie Central, 31-13.
T-town ran out to a 13-0 opening quarter lead and led 18-4 at halftime.
Rayanna Mette led the way with 13 points.
In other first round games, Virginia edged Washington 31-29, Downs Tri-Valley won over Burr Ridge Gower 36-13 and Hillsboro defeated Princeton Logan 21-17.
In the second round, T-town handed Virginia a 31-17 loss.
The Shoes again charged out to the opening quarter lead, 12-7, and led 21-11 at halftime.
Jojo Schmidt was the leading scorer with 12 points. Peyton Ruholl and Sophia Grunloh added six each.
In the other contest, Hillsboro edged Downs Tri-Valley 18-15.
Virginia (24-3) and Downs Tri-Valley (23-3) will meet for third place Thursday at 6 p.m. while Teutopolis (26-1) will take on Hillsboro (28-1) at 7:30 for the championship.
