Martin C. “Marty” Lee, 73, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL, surrounded by family after a long, hard battle with Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Dementia.
Private family burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN. Memorials may be made to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or to Parkinson’s research. Online condolences may be shared at www.johnsonandsonsfh.com.
Marty was born on March 4, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN the son of Charles T. and Vivian Delores (Wright) Lee. Marty served in the United States Navy in Vietnam. He worked for 30 years as the Assistant Powerplant Manager at JEA Electric in Jacksonville, FL. He spent the last 20 years enjoying time spent with family. He was fun-loving and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Marty is survived by his sister, Jerri Taylor of Effingham; nieces, Shellie (John) Griffith of Effingham and Regina (John) Dick of Blaine, TN; beloved great-nephews, John Everett, Sean Griffith, and Michael Pritchard; and beloved great-niece, Elizabeth DiGiusto.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, John King.
