The 2025 Illinois Coaches Association State softball teams have been named. Several area players reached first, second or third team status.
Altamont High School’s Grace Lemke was named to the Class 1A First Team. She is a senior.
Also named to the First Team was Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg’s Samantha Hayes, a senior.
Both Lemke and Hayes kept the area teams alive with their outstanding pitching performances.
Named to the Second Team was Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg’s Kendra Hayes, a sophomore, who pitched and also played the infield.
In Class 2A, two area players were named. Effingham St. Anthony’s Adysen Rios, a senior infielder, was named to the First Team.
Newton High School’s Addyson O’Dell, a senior infielder, was named to the First Team.
Effingham St. Anthony’s Julia Schultz and Camille Wines were both named to the Third Team.
Schultz, is a sophomore catcher, infielder while Wines, a senior, is a utility player.
Newton High School’s Amelia Collins and Alisson Stanley were named to the Third Team.
Collins, a senior, was a pitcher, while Stanley, also a senior, was a catcher.
Teutopolis High School had two players reach the Third Team.
Malea Helmink, a junior infielder and Alyssa Tipton, a junior pitcher, were named to the team.
