Five Area Teams Advance To State Bass Fishing Finals

Six area teams competed in the Bass Fishing Sectional at Clinton Lake Thursday and five of those teams earned the right to head to the State Finals.

The top 10 boats from each sectional advance. Stanford Olympia won the title with 22 pounds, 14 ounces. Stanford Olympia’s Daylan Langley, a sophomore, was the Big Bass winner with a bass that weighed 5 pounds, 15 ounces.

Argenta-Oreana finished second with 17 pounds, 13 ounces.

The area teams included Newton No. 1 third with 16 pounds, 3 ounces, Teutopolis No. 1 fourth with 15 pounds, 12 ounces, Newton No. 2 sixth with 13 pounds, 11 ounces, Windsor No. 1 seventh with 13 pounds, 11 ounces and Effingham No. 1 ninth with 12 pounds, 11 ounces.

Windsor No. 2 finished 13th with 12 pounds, 4 ounces but did not advance.

Effingham head coach is Drew Deters and driver is Chad Harminson. Team members are Kylie Harminson and Kade Sarver.

Making up the team for Newton No. 1 is head coach and driver Chris Bradley and team members Lain Burgner and Bradley Kyson.

Members of the  Teutopolis team are Coach Lee Buehnerkemper, driver Lance Dasenbrock and team members Brody Thoele and Dawson Hoene.

Newton No. 2 head coach is Chris Bradley with driver Chris James. Team members are Gunner James and Landon Kirts.

Windsor No. 1 head coach is Pat O’Dell and driver is Patrick O’Dell. Team members are Myles Verdeyen and Hayden Porter.

The teams head to the State Finals Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June 7 at Lake Shelbyville.
