Effingham Junior High School saw its volleyball season come to a close Wednesday evening in its own Class 8-4A Regional.
The Mustangs, seeded sixth, fell to No. 2 seeded Taylorville 25-16, 25-15.
Kenley Moore led the Mustangs in assists with five and digs with five. Savannah Fear had four kills while Jade McGee had one ace.
In the other match, top-seeded Chatham Glenwood beat No. 4 Rochester, 25-16, 25-13.
Chatham Glenwood and Taylorville will now meet tonight for the championship at 6. The winner advances to the Rochester Sectional Monday.
Class 8-4A Effingham Regional

Class 8-1A Martinsville Regional
Sigel St. Michael lived up to its No. 1 seeding by claiming the championship of the Martinsville Regional Wednesday evening.
The Sharpshooters won over No. 2 seeded Martinsville. Martinsville claimed the opening set 26-24. But St. Michael rallied and came back with 25-12, 25-22 wins for the match.
St. Michael advances to its own sectional Monday, taking on the winner of the Chrisman Scottland Regional, either Stewardson-Strasburg or Chrisman Scottland. Those two teams play for the championship of that regional tonight at 6.
At Lawrenceville
Top-seeded Lawrenceville Parkview captured the championship of its own Class 8-3A Regional Wednesday evening.
Lawrenceville Parkview won over second-seeded Jasper County, 25-23, 25-15.
Jasper County was led by Wolf with four kills and seven digs, Mulvey with six assists and Lingafelter with one block.
The winner now advances to the Teutopolis Sectional and will meet the winner of the Sullivan Regional, either Sullivan or Shelbyville Moulton Monday at 6 p.m. Those two teams play tonight for the regional championship.
Class 8-3A Lawrenceville Regional
Jasper County — Wolf, 3 aces, 4 kills, 3 assists, 7 digs; Jansen, 1 ace, 5 digs; Ochs, 1 ace, 1 kill, 1 dig; Ginder, 1 ace, 1 dig; Hall, 3 kills; Mulvey, 2 kills, 6 assists, 3 digs; Briscoe, 1 kill; Lingafelter, 1 assist, 1 block
At Chrisman
Stewardson-Strasburg faces Chrisman Scottland tonight in the Class 8-1A Chrisman Scottland Regional.
The two teams meet for the championship at 6 p.m.
At Louisville
Two National Trail Conference teams will square off tonight for the championship of the Class 8-2A North Clay Regional.
Dieterich, seeded third, and top-seeded North Clay will meet at 6 p.m. for the title and the right to advance to the St. Anthony Sectionall Monday.
At Morrisonville
Effingham St. Anthony, seeded third, will meet No. 5 seeded Nokomis tonight for the championship of the Class 8-2A Morrisonville Regional.
Match time is 6 p.m. The winner advances to the St. Anthony Sectional and will take on the winner of the North Clay Regional at 6 p.m. Monday.
