 National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Volleyball Tourney Opens Play

The National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Girls Volleyball Tournament opened play at Windsor Wednesday evening.

The higher seeds all won matches.

In match one, Neoga defeated Cowden-Herrick/Beecher  City, 25-17, 19-25, 15-4.

The second match went to Stewardson-Strasburg over Effingham Sacred Heart, 18-25, 25-12, 15-8.

Sigel St. Michael downed Dieterich, 25-19, 25-16 and North  Clay defeated Altamont, 25-13, 25-16.

The tournament continues Saturday in the two gyms.

Top-seeded South Central meets Neoga at 9 a.m. followed by No. 4  Windsor against  Stewardson-Strasburg at 10 in the New Gym.

In the Old Gym, No. 2 Cumberland will face Sigel St. Michael at 9 a.m. and No. 3  St. Elmo/Brownstown will take on North  Clay at 10.

The consolation matches will begin at 11 a.m. with the consy championship at 1:30 p.m.

The championship matches will begin at 12:30 p.m. with the third place match at 1:30 and the championship at 2:30.
