 Junior High School Volleyball Results — February 9

Effingham and Jasper County split junior high volleyball victories Monday evening.

The Mustangs lost in the seventh-grade match, 25-23, 25-20.

Alivia Lauritzen led in kills with four, aces with four and digs with seven. Rosie Schmidt had seven assists.

The Mustangs drop to 6-4 on the season.

In eighth-grade action, Effingham won 25-20, 12-25, 25-16 to improve to 5-5.

Miley Wilson led in kills with four while Kenley Moore and Kendyl Smith had six aces each. Moore led in assists with eight. Kloey Bierman led in digs with 15.

The Mustangs improved to 5-5.

Effingham will return to action today, hosting Trinity Lutheran.

At Effingham

Altamont and Effingham Sacred Heart claimed a victory each Monday evening.

Sacred Heart won the seventh-grade match, 25-18, 25-12. Altamont dropped to 1-13 on the season.

The Wildcats were led by Blakely McClellan with five aces, Roslyn Kalber with five assists, Cali Ruffner with five kills and Kalber and McClellan with one dig each.

In eighth-grade play, Altamont won 25-15, 25-19.

Teegan Burrus led the winners in aces with three and assists with 13. Addi Neu led in kills with nine. Aubrey Roberts and Kinze Polk led in digs with two each.

Altamont improved to 2-9 on the season and is back in action today against Windsor.

At Effingham

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City claimed two victories over Dieterich Monday evening.

CHBC won the seventh-grade match 25-19, 25-17.

Brooke Tucker led the winners in aces with four and assists with four. Elli Wheeler led in digs with six and kills with five.

In eighth-grade action, CHBC was a 26-24, 25-23 winner.

Alyson Lawrence led the winners with six kills and seven digs. Hadley Pope had four aces and 11 assists. Elaina Thompson had one block.

At Dieterich

North Clay remained unbeaten on the season with victories in both seventh- and eighth-grade play over Clay City Monday evening.

In seventh-grade play, North Clay won 25-7, 25-17. In eighth-grade action, North Clay was a 25-12, 25-5 winner.

North Clay improved to 12-0 on the season.
