North Clay won the seventh-grade match, 25-21, 16-25, 15-9.

St. Anthony was led by Morgan Kabbes and Mary Hoke with one dig each, Charlotte Sprecher with two assists, Maeve Niebrugge and Hoke with two kills each and Sprecher with six aces.

In eighth-grade play, North Clay was a winner, 25-21, 25-15.

The Bullpups were led by JackLynn Nuxoll with six aces, Bella Schultz and Caelyn Buehnekemper with one block each, Amaya Griffith with four kills, Nina Semple with six assists and Sylvia Semple with three digs.

North Clay is 4-0 in the National Trail Conference and 6-0 overall.

At Louisville

Seventh-Grade Match

St. Anthony — Kabbes, 1 dig; M. Niebrugge, 2 kills, 5 aces; Hoke, 1 dig, 2 kills; R. Niebrugge, 1 ace; Galeener, 1 ace; Litz, 2 aces; Sprecher, 2 assists, 6 aces; Barnes, 2 aces

At St. Elmo

St. Elmo/Brownstown and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City split National Trail Conference victories Tuesday evening.

St. Elmo/Brownstown won the seventh-grade match in three sets. The team claimed the opener 25-11 but CHBC came back to take the second set 25-14. SEB then won the match, 25-19.

CHBC was led by Elli Wheeler with five kills and seven digs, Makynlie Prater with three aces, Mia Wakefield with three aces and Brook Tucker with eight assists.

In eighth-grade play, CHBC claimed the win, 25-19, 25-23.

Anna Hart had six kills, seven aces and one block for the winners. Hadley Pope led in assists with seven. Alyson Lawrence had four digs.

At St. Elmo

Seventh-Grade Match

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City — Tucker, 2 aces, 8 assists, 6 digs; Wheeler, 5 kills, 2 aces, 7 digs; Prater, 3 aces, 4 digs; Sarver, 2 kills, 1 ace, 1 dig; Wakefield, 3 kills, 3 aces, 2 digs; Stoldt, 2 kills

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis swept through seventh- and eighth-grade play Tuesday against Charleston.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade match, 25-22, 25-21.

In eighth-grade play, T-town was a winner in the opening set 28-26 but fell in the second set 25-14. The Shoes then won the match 25-13.

 

At Newton

Jasper County and Cumberland split wins Tuesday evening.

Cumberland was a winner in the seventh-grade match, 25-23, 25-14.

Newton was led by H. Wolf with three aces and six assists, E. Wolf with four kills and Ginder with six digs.

In eighth-grade action, Jasper County won 25-10, 18-25, 25-15 to improve to 6-1 on the season.

Ginder led in aces with four while Wolf had six kills. Mulvey finished with eight assists. Jansen had four digs and Lingafelter and Evan had one block each.

Jasper County returns to action Friday against Marshall with a 4:30 p.m. seventh-grade start followed by the eighth-graders.

At Newton

At Dieterich

Dieterich captured two victories over Altamont Tuesday evening.

Dieterich won the seventh-grade match, 25-16, 25-22.

Altamont was led by Cali Ruffner with six aces and one kill, Adriana Starnes with one kill, Emerson Kuenstler with one kill and Blakely McClellan with two assists and one kill.

In eighth-grade action, Dieterich was a 25-15, 25-17 winner.

Altamont was led by Teegan Burrus with five assists and two digs, Payton Ort with two digs and two blocks, Addie Marshall with three aces and Addi Neu with 11 kills.

At Neoga

Neoga improved its record in both seventh- and eighth-grade play against Paris Crestwood Tuesday.

Neoga won the seventh-grade match 27-25, 25-23 to improve to 2-0.

In eighth-grade play, Neoga went three sets before pulling out the win. Neoga lost the opener 27-25 but came back with 25-17, 25-16 scores for the match win and a 2-1 record.
