Effingham St. Anthony split victories with Charleston in junior high volleyball competition Tuesday evening.

The Bullpups fell in the seventh-grade match, 25-7, 25-10.

In eighth-grade action, St. Anthony won 25-13, 25-11. Nina Semple led in assists with six, Amaya Griffith had five kills, Bella Schultz had one block and JackLynn Nuxoll had five aces.

St. Anthony — S. Semple, 1 kill, 1 ace; N. Semple, 6 assists, 1 kill; Lustig, 2 kills, 1 ace; Swick, 1 dig; Buehnerkemper, 3 kills; Schultz, 1 assist, 3 kills, 1 block, 3 aces; Griffith, 2 assists, 5 kills, 1 ace; Nuxoll, 2 kills, 5 aces

 

At Strasburg

Altamont came calling at Stewardson-Strasburg and fell in both contests Tuesday.

Stew-Stras won the seventh-grade match, 26-24, 21-25, 25-16.

Altamont was led by Cali Ruffner with seven aces, one block and two kills, Emerson Kuenstler with two kills and three digs and Roselyn Kalber with three assists.

In eighth-grade play, Stew-Stras was the winner. Altamont claimed the opening set 25-18 but Stew-Stras took the match 25-6, 25-21.

Altamont was led by Payton Ort with six aces, four kills and three blocks and Addie Marshall with eight digs.

At Sigel

Sigel St. Michael captured two victories over Neoga in Tuesday evening competition.

St. Michael won the seventh-grade contest, 25-15, 25-17.

In the eighth-grade match, St. Michael won 25-20, 25-15.

Neoga drops to 0-2 in both seventh- and eighth-grade play.
