The Egyptian-Illini Conference Volleyball Tournament got underway at St. Elmo Monday evening.
In the opening match, St. Elmo/Brownstown defeated Martinsville, 25-15, 25-15.
SEB was led by Peyton Barker with nine kills, Presley Williams and Mya Barker with eight digs each, Addie Sasse with 11 assists and Alivia Claycomb with one block.
The second match went to Martinsville over Mulberry Grove, 25-19, 25-20.
In the final match of the evening, St. Elmo/Brownstown defeated Mulberry Grove, 25-16, 25-21. The Eagles were led by P. Barker with 14 kills and 14 digs, Sasse and Macey Sapp with 15 assists each and Madi Miller with one block.
The tournament continues tonight as Ramsey meets Patoka/Odin at 5:30, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City takes on Patoka/Odin at 6:30 and Ramsey faces Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at 7:30.
The finals are scheduled Thursday.

At Olney
Effingham St. Anthony tallied a victory over Olney, Richland County Monday evening.
The Bulldogs won 25-10, 25-13 to improve to 28-5 as they ended regular season play.
Madelyn Gilmore led in assists with 24, Reese Hoene led in kills with 11, Cara Hatton had 12 digs and one block while Sophia Emmerich and Audrey Lasarge also had one block each.
At Olney

At Toledo
Teutopolis came calling at Cumberland and picked up victories in both junior varsity and varsity matches Monday evening.
The Wooden Shoes won the varsity match, 25-16, 25-21 to improve to 22-9 on the season.
Marie Zumbahlen led the Shoes in digs with eight while Gabby Tegeler added seven kills and Ella Willenberg and Marie Zumbahlen had two aces each. The Shoes were tough at the net as Madison Miller, Alicen Niemerg and Elise Pals had two blocks each. Kaylie Jordan led in assists with 20.
Cumberland was led by Alysa Dittamore with 12 assists, Madelyn McElravy with five kills, MacKenzie Claybaugh with nine digs, Claybaugh, Mia Holsapple and McElravy with one ace each and Claybaugh, Sadie Colnar, Holsapple and Dittamore with one block each.
Teutopolis also claimed the junior varsity match, 25-16, 25-15 and improved to 16-3 on the season.
Teutopolis will host Robinson tonight for its final match of the regular season. The Shoes will celebrate Senior Night with Ava Ruholl, Katie Horn and Madison Miller.

Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran handed Altamont a varsity loss in three sets Monday evening.
Altamont started off good, pulling out a 26-24 victory in the opening set. But CORL battled back to take the match 25-23, 25-21.
The Indians were led by Hope Roedl with 26 digs, Avery Aldrich with nine kills, Riley Rippetoe with four blocks and Adi Schnarre with two aces.
At Centralia

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg and Newton duked it out with the homestanding Hatchets coming out the winners, 25-14, 22-25, 25-11 Monday evening.
“Newton always makes us work despite what the score says,” said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte. “They are a great defensive team and we really needed that win tonight. The girls played a great game. Tonight we celebrated Senior Night for Brinlie Durbin, Cameron Carey, Maddie Beitz, Aubree Antrim, Leah Kasey and Meredith Dailey. We also honored Brinlie for getting her 1,000 assists earlier in the season.”
The Hatchets were led by Brinlie Durbin with 17 assists, Zaida Wascher with eight kills, Mya Friese with 13 digs, Brinlie Durbin, M. Friese and Kendra Hayes with one ace each and Brooke Schumacher with nine block assists.
Newton was led by Bierman with eight kills, Shull with 13 assists, Hermann with 16 digs and Probst with two blocks. The Eagles are back in action Thursday at Paris.
Windsor/Stew-Stras won the junior varsity match, 25-18, 25-19 and is 15-3.
Newton was a winner in freshman/sophomore action, 25-20, 25-15. WSS dropped to 8-7-4.
Windsor/Stew-Stras is back in action tonight at Tuscola.
