The W/SS Sportsbackers plan to present an exciting evening of volleyball on Saturday October 25th in recognition of the school’s “50 Years of Excellence” in that sport.
The Hatchets will take on one of the state’s top 1A teams, Decatur Unity Christian. Action begins at 4:45 p.m.
The evening will recognize all 50 Stew-Stras/WSS volleyball teams in celebration of being named number 16 in the IHSA listing of the state’s 50 Top Volleyball Programs.
More than 130 former players and coaches are expected to be on hand and will be recognized between the junior varsity and varsity matches.
In the past 50 years Stewardson-Strasburg and the Windsor/Stew-Stras teams have won:
– 35 conference championships
– 33 district/regional titles
– 14 sectional titles
– 11 IHSA state tournament appearances
– 9 state trophies
– 1 state championship
