BLUFORD — St. Elmo/Brownstown captured third place at the Webber Volleyball Tournament Saturday, going 2-1 on the day.
The Eagles began their day with a tough two set loss to Elverado, 25-23, 26-24 but bounced back with a two-set win over Cobden, 25-18, 25-18.
St. Elmo/Brownstown then defeated Meridian 25-17, 25-12 to finish in third place for the tournament.
Senior Presley Williams and junior Mya Barker were named to the All-Tournament Team. The Eagles are now 11-7 on the season and will next be at Patoka for an Egyptian Illini Conference matchup.

At Champaign
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg finished Silver third place at the Champaign Central Volleyball Invitational Saturday.
The Hatchets downed Bethalto Civic Memorial, 25-16, 25-21 then fell to Cissna Park, 26-24, 25-22. Windsor/Stew-Stras then won over Champaign St. Thomas Moore, 15-25, 25-13, 17-15. They fell to Dekalb, 19-25, 25-15, 18-16.
That dropped the team into Silver play where they finished third by beating Chicago Christian, 25-19, 25-17.
“I’m so impressed how these girls played this weekend, especially against Cissna Park,” said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte. “They are a powerhouse and we stayed with them. Beating St. Thomas More was also a highlight. We played against some tall teams who were strong so ending third in Silver was not even on my radar. Congrats to Mya Friese for All-Tourney Team. It was well deserved.”

At Effingham
Teutopolis competed in the Effingham Freshman/Sophomore Tournament Saturday.
T-town defeated St. Anthony, 25-21, 25-10.
Effingham won over Olney, 25-19, 25-22.
Olney defeated St. Anthony, no score given.
T-town then defeated Effingham 25-14, 25-13 to win the four-team tournament.
T-town was led by Jenna Beckman with 50 sets and 17 assists. She also had 23 serves and eight aces. Bella Ordner led the team with 11 kills and chipped in with eight digs and three aces. Faith Ruholl led with 16 digs and also had three kills and five aces. Lily Tegler had eight kills to go with 27 sets and 10 assists.
The team is 11-3 on the season. They also split 1-1 with both St. Joseph-Ogden and Pana in regular season matches. They finished second in junior varsity tournaments at Altamont and at Robinson.
Their next match is tonight hosting North Clay.
