NEOGA — Effingham St. Anthony handed Neoga a loss in high school volleyball competition Tuesday evening.
The Bulldogs won 25-9, 25-14 to improve to 6-2 on the season.
Cara Hatton had four aces and two blocks while Reese Hoene led in kills with seven. Madelyn Gilmore had 12 assists and Lilly Gannaway led in digs with five.
The Bulldogs are back in action Thursday at Robinson.
Neoga was led by Brooklynn Douglas with seven digs, Madelynn Frankie and Chloe Frankie had two blocks each. C. Frankie also led in assists with six while M. Frankie led in kills with two.

Effingham dropped varsity, junior varsity and freshman/sophomore matches to Taylorville Tuesday evening.
Taylorville was a winner in the varsity contest, 25-20, 25-15. Leading EHS were Camdyn Burgholzer with four kills and two blocks, Berkley Pullen with 14 assists and Mckenzie Love with three aces and two blocks.
In the junior varsity match, Taylorville won 25-13, 25-23.
The freshman/sophomore contest went to the Tornadoes, 25-12, 25-15.

North Clay came calling and captured a win over Altamont by 25-22 and 25-21 scores Tuesday evening.
North Clay is now 1-1 in the National Trail Conference and 1-8 overall. Their next match is Friday against Neoga at 5 p.m.
Altamont was led by Laila Hankins with 17 digs and two blocks, Bella Hollinshead with five kills and Avery Fleeharty with nine assists.

The South Central Cougars beat Dieterich in two sets Tuesday evening, 25-10, 25-17.
River Yingst led the winners with one block and 10 assists. Lauren Johnson and Addie Conant had one block each. Kinlee Thompson led in kills with six. Sophie Wodtka finished with four aces and Addisyn Sigrist had seven digs.
Dieterich was led by Allie Uthell with two aces, three kills and two blocks. Bailey Brummer and Aliza Garner also had two blocks each. Garner led in assists with five. Kayla Goebel and Lydia Fuesting had three digs each.

Teutopolis swept Sullivan in volleyball action Tuesday.
The Wooden Shoes won the varsity match, 25-20, 25-10. Madison Miller led the Shoes in kills with 10, digs with 13 and blocks with two. Kaylie Jordan had 19 assists. Gabby Tegler finished with five aces. Ella Tarter had seven points.
In junior varsity action, T-town was a winner 25-21, 25-21 and is 5-1 on the season.
T-town’s freshman/sophomore team won 25-22, 25-19 and is 1-0-1 on the season.

Marshall won the varsity contest, 25-19, 25-11.
Leading Cumberland were Madelyn McElravy with six kills, Alyssa Dittmamore with 10 assists and eight digs and Madelyn McElravy with six kills. Hannah Shoemaker and Dittamore had one block each while Shoemaker had one ace.

In the junior varsity contest, Fairfield won 25-23, 25-22. Fairfield also won the freshman match 25-18, 25-15.
Newton is back in action Thursday against Edwards County (Albion).
