CASEY — It took three sets, but Teutopolis pulled out a victory over Casey-Westfield in high school volleyball action Monday.
The Warriors won the opening set, 25-19. But the Wooden Shoes came back to pull out a 27-25 win next and then took the match, 25-17.
Madison Miller led the Shoes in blocks with six and digs with six. Elise Pals also had six blocks. Gabby Tegler had 18 kills. Kaitlyn Horn led in points with 15. Kaylie Jordan had 35 assists. Clara Mette and Elise Pals had two aces each.
In the junior varsity match, T-town was a 25-18, 25-13 winner.
Kiley Bloemer led in blocks with two. Emma Isley and Ella Willenborg had two aces each. Alicen Niemerg scored eight points. Brittany Swingler led in kills with six and assists with 15.
T-town will be back in action tonight at Richland County/Olney.

St. Elmo/Brownstown opened its 2025 campaign in dominating fashion at home Monday, getting a win over Okaw Valley in two sets.
The Eagles came out hot and ran away from the Timberwolves for a 25-7 first set win. The second set would prove to be closer on the scoreboard, but the Eagles again controlled the set and got a 25-18 win to seal the match.
Addie Sasse led the Eagles in kills with six. Peyton Barker had 10 digs. Alivia Claycomb added two blocks and Macey Sapp led in assists with six.

Dieterich was a winner over Ramsey Monday evening. The Maroons fell in the opening set, 25-22 but came back to take the match, 25-18, 25-16.
Dieterich was led by Allie Uthell with 10 kills. Aliza Garner had 13 aces and four blocks. Mariah Muhs led in assists with three. Bailey Brummer and Kinley Will led in kills with 10 each.

Effingham fell to host Salem in both varsity and junior varsity openers Monday.
The Hearts lost the varsity contest, 25-21, 25-23. Camdyn Burgholzer led in assists with 11, aces with two and digs with 13. Mckenzie Love led in kills with 12. Melia Wendling had two blocked shots.
In the junior varsity contest, Salem was a 25-8, 26-24 winners.
The Hearts were led by Mara Braun with three kills and one block, Brylee Wildbur with four assists and three aces. Kaitlyn Budde and Kiersten Baker had one block each and Seatyn Althoff had six digs.

Oblong handed Cumberland losses in both varsity and junior varsity play Tuesday evening.
Oblong was a winner in the varsity match, 25-22, 25-18.
Cumberland was led by Jude Miller with 10 assists, one block and one ace, Alysa Dittamore with six kills and one ace, Hannah Shoemaker with a block and an ace and Leah Gray and Madelyn McElravy with seven digs each.
In the junior varsity contest, Oblong was a winner, 21-25, 25-17, 15-10.
Cumberland was led by Kyndal Duvall with six assists, Emersen Brading with five kills and nine digs, Ava Long with five blocks and Caroline Fritts and Avery Millsap with two aces each.
