TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis had its bats swinging in taking a 10-9 victory over Altamont Tuesday in junior high softball action.
The Wooden Shoes finished with 16 hits led by Sophia Grunloh with four singles and three RBI, Emily Murray had a single, double, triple and one RBI, Jojo Schmidt a triple and two RBI, Brynlee Cottrill a double and Lilly Ruholl two singles and an RBI. Emma Wells added two singles and Payton Ruholl and Addisyn Meyer had a single and an RBI each.
Altamont was led by Payton Ort with two singles, a double and an RBI, Blaire Suckow with a single and three RBI and Amelia Neu with a single and an RBI.

Neoga edged ahead 1-0 in the first inning but that didn’t last long as Dieterich came back with eight runs in the second and claimed a 12-2 victory in six innings Tuesday.
Dieterich finished with 10 hits led by Ava Benefiel with three single and three RBI, Addison Icenogle with a single, double and an RBI, Alivia Icenogle with a single, triple and two RBI, Lydia Kreke with two singles and an RBI; Kambryn Mellendorf with a single and an RBI and Mackenzie Roedl with an RBI.
Neoga had four hits but committed four errors. Kinzie Bell had a single, home run and an RBI while Lucy Haarman added an RBI.
Kreke finished with the win on the mound. She went three innings, allowing two runs on three hits, one walk and striking out four.

Effingham moved into a 4-0 opening inning lead and downed Vandalia 11-1 in five innings via the 10-run rule Tuesday.
The Mustangs finished with 11 hits. Mia Hartke had two singles, a triple and an RBI while Miley Wilson had a triple and an RBI. Liv Lauritzen had two singles and an RBI, Kendyl Smith finished with a single and two RBI. Cloie Bailey and Madalyn Hoffman had single and an RBI each.
Smith went three innings for the win on the mound. She gave up no runs on two hits while striking out eight and walking only one.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg’s Miranda Corrie went three innings on the mound, giving up no runs on one hit, one walk and striking out seven as her team blanked Effingham St. Anthony, 12-0 Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Hatchets finished with nine hits and was aided by seven Bullpups errors.
Corrie had a double and drove in three runs while Maddy Manhart had a triple and two RBI. Gia Bostedo added two singles and an RBI while Laney Barnard had two singles, Gracyn Montgomery a single and two RBI and Callie Holland with a single and an RBI.
St. Anthony’s lone hit was a single by Isabelle McDonald.

CHBC had only four hits led by Halee Goeckner with a double and two RBI, Hadley Pope with a single and three RBI, Anna Hart and Rhylynn Miller with a single and two RBI each, Jadyn Wright with two RBI and Mila Wakefield and Aria Ervin with an RBI each.
The Rams issused 12 walks in the contest.
Pope went four innings for CHBC, giving up three hits, one walk and striking out seven.

Cumberland put together six runs to tally a 6-2 victory over South Central Tuesday.
The Raiders held a 2-1 opening inning lead and led 3-1 after three innings. The Raiders then scored one in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Brittlin Murphy had a home run and two RBI for the winners. Kaycie Ralston added two singles and Kyndall Strohl a single and an RBI.
Strohl went the distance giving up two runs on seven hits one walk and striking out nine.
South Central was led by Skylar Webster with a single and triple, Alexa Gile with a double and Bella McDowell with two singles.
