COWDEN — Robinson won the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Softball Tournament with a 3-0 record.

Robinson defeated St. Elmo/Brownstown 12-0, Mulberry Grove 12-0 and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 20-0.

St. Elmo/Brownstown finished second beating Mulberry Grove 8-1 and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 78-6 before losing to Robinson.

CHBC took third beating Mulberry Grove 12-0 before losing to St. Elmo/Brownstown and Robinson. Mulberry Grove finished fourth losing all three games.

At Altamont

Altamont picked up one win and suffered a loss Saturday.

Altamont defeated St. Anthony by an 11-1 count in four innings. Altamont took a 4-1 opening inning lead and never looked back.

The winners had one hit less than St. Anthony with four. Addison Neu had a single, double and four RBI while Blaire Suckow had a single and an RBI. Payton Ort added an RBI.

Suckow was the winning pitcher, tossing a five-hitter with no walks and seven strikeouts.

Jasper County blanked Altamont 7-0.

Jasper County took a 3-0 opening inning lead and never looked back.

H. Mulvey threw a one-hitter with two walks and eight strikeouts.

H. Mulvey also was on offensively with two singles, a triple and an RBI. E. Wagner added two singles and two RBI, C. Hartrich two singles and an RBI and H. Wolf and M. Wolf with a single and an RBI each.

Altamont’s hits was single by Payton Ort.

Shelbyville edged Neoga by a 13-11 count behind 17 hits Saturday.

Neoga held a 4-1 opening inning lead and led 8-5 going into the bottom of the fourth when the Shelbyville rallied. The winners finished with four runs in the fourth to tie the score at 9-9. Shelbyville then had a 4-3 run over the next two innings for the victory.

R. Young hit for the cycle for Shelbyville with a single, double, triple and home run and had four RBI. M. Goodwin added two singles, a home run and an RBI. C. Boone had 3 singles, a double and two RBI and K. Agney a single, double and an RBI.

Neoga was led by Kinzie Bell with two singles, a triple and an RBI, Ellie Plummer with a single, double and two RBI, Lydia Frankie with two singles and two RBI and Lucy Haarman with a single and two RBI.

Dieterich scored four runs in the third inning and took a 5-0 win over Teutopolis Saturday behind the no-hit pitching of Lydia Kreke.

Kreke did not give up a walk and struck out 12.

Meanwhile, Kambryn Mellendorf had two singles while Nora Wente had a single and two RBI and Emery Bill a single and an RBI.
