NEOGA — Neoga stepped out to a 2-0 lead over Effingham St. Anthony in junior high softball and went on for a 12-0 victory in four innings Wednesday.

Neoga then tacked on a single run in the second, four in the third and finished the game with five in the fourth.

The Indians were led by Nora Hartke with a double and three RBI, Ellie Plummer with a double and an RBI, Mackie White with two singles and two RBI and Bliss Bear with a single and an RBI. Lucy Haarman and Lydia Frankie had an RBI each.

White tossed a three-hitter with no walks and two strikeouts in the four innings on the mound.

At Kinmundy

South Central put together seven hits while two pitchers combined to allow Salem Franklin Park only three hits in a 12-1 victory in five innings Wednesday.

South Central took a 3-0 opening inning lead. Franklin Park came back with a run in the top of the third, but South Central tallied nine more in the bottom of the frame for the win.

Alexa Gile had two singles and three RBI while Claire Chasteen had a single and three RBI for the winners. Lexy Garrett, Jayda Neilson and Bella McDowell added a single and an RBI each.

Chasteen went four innings for the pitching win. She gave up one run on three hits, six walks while striking out seven.
