 Teutopolis Wins, Altamont Enjoys Senior Night In Soccer Action

OLNEY — Teutopolis High School defeated Olney 2-1 in the last regular season soccer match Tuesday.

Both goals were scored by Landyn Buening, one assisted by Simon Lee, and the other by his brother Gavin Buening.

The varsity Shoes end the regular season with a 13-3-3 record.

The junior varsity played its last match of the season and fell to Olney 3-0. The JV ends its season with a 7-2-1 record and scored a total of 19 goals, eight being assisted during the season.

“We are very proud of the growth and improvement from our JV squad this season,” said T-town Coach Aaron Wendt.

The varsity opens up its post-season play Monday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m. in Altamont against the winner of Altamont vs. Mount Carmel match.

 

At Altamont

Altamont High School played host to its last home match of the regular season and honored its six senior team members.

“We had six amazing and wonderful young men who are seniors,” said Coach Eric Morales. “Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hamond came to play today and showed lots of grit and hard work as they blanked us 1-0.

“The junior varsity played a short game and the Tribe won 3-0 with goals from Micah Tenpenny and two from Andrew Ellersick.”

Altamont travels to Pana Friday for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
