Teutopolis High School not only pounded Greenville 9-0 but did it on a night when the Wooden Shoes were honoring their senior players.
T-town’s goals were by Joey Probst, Landyn Buening, assisted by his brother Gavin Buening, Probst, assisted by Simon Lee, G. Buening assisted by L. Buening, Gavin Pals, Lee, assisted by Probst, Bruno Pozzi, assisted by L. Buening, Gus Niemerg assisted by Lee and L. Buening.
“Tonight we honored six seniors and two foreign exchange students,” said T-town Coach Aaron Wendt. “The seniors are Gavin Buening, Landyn Buening, Isaac McWhorter, Joey Probst, Derek Schmidt and Manager Inman Wendte and foreign exchange students are Bruno Pozzi from Brazil and Thomas Ricca Sissoldo from Italy. We scored lots of goals.”
Teutopolis improved to 12-3-3 on the season.
The junior varsity squad downed Greenville, 5-0. Scoring goals were two by Grant Tegeler, who was assisted on one goal by Julien Blim, two goals from Keegan Swingler, assisted on one by Vahling and Blim scored a goal.
The junior varsity squad is now 7-1-1.
Both squads will play in the last regular season match at Olney today with a 4:30 p.m. varsity start and the junior varsity afterwards.
