Altamont played host to Carlyle in high school soccer Thursday evening and pulled out a 2-1 victory.

“What a beautiful fall evening,” said Altamont coach Eric Morales. “We had great temps, great forecast, just all-around the perfect soccer night. We played a very great game seeing many opportunities on goal just unable to finish. Lots of back and forth from both teams.

“Chase Pals was first to put a goal on the board for us 17 minutes into the game from the top of the 18. Then 14 minutes into the second half, Juan Fulk put a nice ball across the front of the goal for Chase Pals to net his second goal of the night.

“Carlyle made a late run down the left side only to get fouled for a penalty kick, putting them on the board but the game ended with us in front.”

The junior varsity also won their game, going 5-0. Scoring for Altamont were Micah Tenpenny from James Durbin, Tenpenny again, this time from Landen Parker. Durbin off the defender’s leg, Andrew Ellersick unassisted and Tenpenny for his third goal, this time unassisted.

Connor Delong score one goal and had three assists. Sebastian Simoni scored a goal with one assist. Alberto Zaragoza, Dani Angel and Primo Hernandez rounded out the scoring with one goal each.
