The Effingham St. Anthony High School ESports team competed at the IHSA Belleville East Sectional Saturday, April 26. The team competed in Smash Bros Solos, Smash Bros Crew, and Rocket League.
The Smash Bros Solo players were Sean Silva and Greer Weis. They competed well each going 2-2 but neither one advanced to the IHSA State Finals.
The Smash Bros Crew Team consisted of Chase Ferguson, Madeline Gibson, Devin Grubb, Mason Jones, and Chris Ruholl. They also completed very well going 2-2 in their matches but also fell short of qualifying for the State Finals.
The Rocket League team of Elijah Poston, Ethan Karolewicz, and Connor Frauli fought their way through the field finishing as sectional runner-up and qualified for the IHSA Stare Finals next weekend in Evergreen Park.
